Nemuna Ceesay

she/her/hers

What is your hope for The Blueprint?

I want it to be the place where BIPOC emerging artists come to form community and learn how to bring themselves, just as they are, to the work. I want The Blueprint alums to be who everyone is trying to hire and collaborate with!

Who do you do this for?

I do this for all BIPOC students who have felt marginalized and ignored in PWIs and in the industry. I do this for artists like myself who have felt helpless for many years, trying to figure out how to make the changes that we so desperately need.

What is one hope you have for the future of our industry?

I can't wait for BIPOC inclusion in the industry to be equal to our

presence in the world.

Who are 3 BIPOC artists that inspire you and your work?

Beyoncé, Kehinde Wiley, Kemiyondo Coutinho

What advice do you have for emerging BIPOC artists?

Don't shrink yourself. Take up space. It's yours.
